Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box in CS2: Price per Wear and Why It Sits at the Top (2026)

Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box cost $1,826 in Battle-Scarred, $2,919 in Field-Tested, $4,629 in Minimal Wear and $21,337 in Factory New on 10 October 2026, the cheapest listing in each wear across tracked markets. It is one of the two most expensive gloves in CS2, a 2016 original from the Glove Case that the Operation Hydra Case reused in 2017, and none of its wears can be listed on the Steam Market at all.

Buy it if Pandora's Box is the glove you want and you are paying for the name, the black-and-purple look and a small supply. Skip it if you are reading old "$60,000" headlines as a guide: those prices belong to the market before October 2025, and the Factory New pair is now about a third of that.

Pandora's Box at a glance

Valve's item text calls them "black and purple gloves" with "a subtle pattern printed on the palms", and adds that they are "a must have for any demolitions expert with sweaty palms". They are Sport Gloves, the slim athletic family, and one of the four Sport finishes in the 24-glove set that Valve shipped with the Glove Case on 28 November 2016. Like every glove they have no StatTrak or Souvenir version, and their float runs from 0.06 to 0.80, so Factory New is the narrow band from 0.06 to 0.07.

The name gets searched in odd ways, "cs2 sport gloves - pandora's box" being the most common, and the results are mostly translated price pages. Price per wear, 10 October 2026

Two things stand out. Field-Tested ($2,919) and Well-Worn ($2,745) were within about $175 of each other, so a low Well-Worn pair is the cheapest way to own a mid-wear Pandora's Box. And Factory New is a different market altogether: about 69 pairs on the tracker's count, against roughly 6,000 Field-Tested, which is why the cheapest Factory New ask was more than seven times the Field-Tested one.

The Steam column is empty for a reason. Valve caps a single Steam Market listing at $1,800, and the cheapest Pandora's Box in any wear was above that, so every sale happens on third-party markets or in direct trades. Any "Steam price" you see quoted for this glove is either old or from somewhere else.

Why Pandora's Box sits at the top end

Supply first. The 2016 set comes only from the Glove Case and the Operation Hydra Case, which listed at $12.01 and $36.94 on Steam on our read day, against cents for the cases that carry the newer sets. Dear cases are likely opened far less often than cheap ones, and the counts agree: one tracker counted about 10,200 Pandora's Box pairs in total, against about 51,400 Vice; the 2016 set is simply rarer.

Then the look and the timing. Pandora's Box and Hedge Maze were among the first gloves in the game and were the two most expensive on our read. On 10 October 2026 Hedge Maze was ahead: $1,882 against $1,826 in Battle-Scarred and $28,000 against $21,337 in Factory New. Superconductor, the third 2016 Sport glove, ran $740 to $8,132. So the honest answer to "is Pandora's Box the most expensive glove" is: it is one of the two, and on our read day it was second.

Origin: Glove Case and Operation Hydra

Valve introduced the Glove Case with the "Brothers In Arms" update on 28 November 2016, writing that unlike previous cases its special items were "24 all-new gloves". Pandora's Box is one of them. Operation Hydra launched on 23 May 2017 with its own case, and that case reused the Glove Case's 24 gloves, which is why some price pages list Pandora's Box only under the Glove Case and others file it under Hydra. Both are right; neither is the whole story.

Opening either case for it is a poor bet. A rare special item comes up 0.26% of the time, about once in 385 openings, according to the odds Valve disclosed for its Chinese client in 2017, and Pandora's Box is then one of 24 gloves. The trade-up route since 22 October 2025 needs five Covert skins from the Glove Case or Hydra collections; the cheapest, five M4A4 Buzz Kill, came to about $950 on our read, for a random 2016-set glove whose Battle-Scarred floors averaged $334. The $60k claims, checked

Claims of a $60,000 Factory New Pandora's Box were roughly right a year ago and are wrong now. csgoskins.gg's own index put Factory New at about $70,230 a year before our read, with a one-year high of $70,437; on 10 October 2026 the index stood at $21,275 and the cheapest listing at $21,337. The same tracker records an all-time high of $308,472 on 21 December 2023, which looks like one extreme reading in a market of a few dozen pairs rather than a price anyone could have paid twice.

The fall was not only at the top. Field-Tested peaked at $10,738 on 3 May 2025 and stood at $2,810 on the index on our read; Battle-Scarred went from $4,125 on 5 May 2025 to $1,840. Factory New, Minimal Wear and Field-Tested each lost about two-thirds over the year and Battle-Scarred about half, a year that began twelve days before 22 October 2025, when five Coverts became a way to make a glove. Thin markets also disagree with each other: on 9 September 2026 two trackers we read put Factory New about $12,000 apart. Treat any single Factory New figure as a rough mark, ours included.

Buying one

Buy on a market that shows float and lets you inspect before paying, because at these prices a few hundredths of float are worth real money. With about 69 Factory New pairs counted, one sale can move the cheapest ask by thousands: the tracker's 30-day range for Factory New ran from $19,588 to $22,200 before our read. Gloves carry a pattern seed as well as a float, so ask for an inspect link rather than relying on a stock render. And the Hydra Case on Steam is not a cheaper way in: it costs about three times the Glove Case and holds exactly the same 24 gloves.
