The short version

There are 94 glove finishes in CS2 across eight families, every one of them a ★ Extraordinary item with a float window of 0.06–0.80, no StatTrak and no Souvenir version. They enter the game three ways: as the rare special item in seven weapon cases, as offers from the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal (a weekly drop since 11 March 2026), or by trading up five Covert skins from one of those containers. On 9 September 2026 the cheapest pair listed was a Battle-Scarred Hydra Gloves | Rattler at about $26 and the most expensive a Factory New Sport Gloves | Hedge Maze at about $26,000 — a thousand-fold spread inside one item class.

Everything below is organised around that spread: families ranked for a first pair, where each set drops, the trade-up rule with the cost to craft per set, wear, the October 2025 repricing, the full 94-row table, and the markets we would buy from.

The eight families, ranked for a first pair

Driver Gloves are the family we would start most people in, because they have the widest range, the cheapest cuffed-leather entry and the most new patterns; Sport Gloves are the prestige family but their floor is twice as high. The ranking below is for a first pair, not a collector's ranking — it weighs entry band, number of finishes, how the material wears, and how much of the family is liquid enough to sell again.

Driver Gloves — leather, cuffed

Driver Gloves | Snow Leopard — glove render
Driver Gloves | Snow Leopard — Driver family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

The widest range in the game: the cheapest cuffed leather at ≈$27 and eight brand-new patterns. Leather scuffs visibly at high float, so Field-Tested is the sweet spot. Full fitting with every finish: Driver Gloves in CS2.

Specialist Gloves — leather, knuckle-padded

Specialist Gloves | Fade — glove render
Specialist Gloves | Fade — Specialist family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

Tactical shape, huge spread: Buckshot at ≈$36 and Crimson Kimono past $8,000 in FN. Fade and Marble Fade are the family's collector pieces; seven Dead Hand finishes joined in 2026. Full fitting with every finish: Specialist Gloves in CS2.

Sport Gloves — synthetic, athletic

Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box — glove render
Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box — Sport family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

The prestige family — Pandora's Box, Hedge Maze, Superconductor and Vice — but the floor starts at ≈$66 with Bronze Morph. Fabric wears at the fingertips; MW and FT look close. Full fitting with every finish: Sport Gloves in CS2.

Moto Gloves — leather, hard knuckle

Moto Gloves | Spearmint — glove render
Moto Gloves | Spearmint — Moto family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

Bulky and readable: the knuckle plate carries the design. Transport at ≈$32 is one of the cheapest gloves in the game; Spearmint and Cool Mint are the family's expensive white-and-blue pair. Full fitting with every finish: Moto Gloves in CS2.

Hand Wraps — fabric, wrapped

Hand Wraps | Slaughter — glove render
Hand Wraps | Slaughter — Hand Wraps family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

Wrapped gauze with exposed fingertips. Prints (Cobalt Skulls, Slaughter, CAUTION!) hold their look at high float better than dyed leather does; Desert Shamagh and Duct Tape sit at the floor. Full fitting with every finish: Hand Wraps in CS2.

Hydra Gloves — fingerless, studded

Hydra Gloves | Case Hardened — glove render
Hydra Gloves | Case Hardened — Hydra family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

The cheapest gloves in CS2: Rattler and Mangrove at ≈$26, Emerald at ≈$31. Case Hardened is the one with a pattern worth checking before you buy. Full fitting with every finish: Hydra Gloves in CS2.

Broken Fang Gloves — fingerless, studded

Broken Fang Gloves | Unhinged — glove render
Broken Fang Gloves | Unhinged — Broken Fang family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

Bloodhound Gloves — fingerless, studded

Bloodhound Gloves | Guerrilla — glove render
Bloodhound Gloves | Guerrilla — Bloodhound family render. Bands read 9 September 2026.

The 2016 originals. Bronzed and Snakebite from ≈$59–62, Charred the black one at ≈$95. Thin supply means the mid-wear listings can look odd — read the float, not the tier. Full fitting with every finish: Bloodhound Gloves in CS2.

Where gloves actually come from

Seven weapon cases carry gloves as their rare special item, one sealed terminal offers the 2026 set, and the trade-up contract makes gloves from Covert skins; nothing else in the game produces a pair. The seven cases are the Glove Case (28 Nov 2016), Operation Hydra Case (23 May 2017), Clutch Case (14 Feb 2018), Operation Broken Fang Case (3 Dec 2020), Snakebite Case (3 May 2021), Recoil Case (1 Jul 2022) and Revolution Case (9 Feb 2023). They share three glove sets between them: Glove Case and Hydra hold the 2016 set, Clutch and Revolution the 2018 set, and Broken Fang, Snakebite and Recoil the 2020 set — 24 gloves per set, 72 in total.

The Sealed Dead Hand Terminal, released 11 March 2026, is not a case. It needs no key: you unseal it, an in-game arms dealer shows you up to five sequential offers with the exact wear, float and a Steam Wallet price, and you accept one or let the terminal expire after three days with nothing. Its 22 gloves are the only new glove set since 2020 and can be had no other way except a trade-up from the terminal's own two Covert skins. The terminal itself traded at about $0.34 on the Steam Market on 9 September 2026; the offers inside cost whatever Valve prices them at. We walk the mechanics through in the 22 new gloves and the case maths in which cases have gloves.

The odds of a rare special item from any case are 0.26 percent — the figure Valve disclosed for the Chinese client in 2017, unchanged since — and terminal odds have never been published. Both argue for buying the pair on a marketplace rather than opening for it; the cases fitting puts that in dollars.

The trade-up rule, in plain terms

Since 22 October 2025, five regular Covert items can be exchanged for one regular knife or one regular pair of gloves "from a collection of one of the items provided" — Valve's wording — and five StatTrak Coverts yield a StatTrak knife only, because gloves have no StatTrak. The phrase that matters is "from a collection of one of the items provided": the output comes from the container one of your inputs belongs to, so only Coverts from the eight glove containers can produce gloves, and because none of those eight holds knives, five of their Coverts can only produce gloves.

That makes the cost to craft a computable band per set. On 9 September 2026 the two Revolution Case Coverts (AK-47 | Head Shot, M4A4 | Temukau) listed from about $21–22 in Battle-Scarred, so five of them cost roughly $110 and return a random glove from the Clutch set — whose 24 Battle-Scarred floors average about $74. The Dead Hand pair (AWP | Queen's Gambit, Glock-18 | Fully Tuned) listed from about $33 each, so about $165 buys a random Dead Hand glove whose 22 floors average about $148. The 2016 set is the opposite story: Glove Case and Hydra Coverts start around $227–238 apiece, roughly $1,150 for five, against a set whose floors average about $356 — you are paying for the chance at Pandora's Box, Hedge Maze or Crimson Kimono.

Wear travels with the inputs. The output's float is your five inputs' average position within their own float ranges, mapped onto the glove's 0.06–0.80 window (the marketplace guides describe it as the average adjusted for the caps). Five Battle-Scarred reds make a Battle-Scarred glove; for a Factory New glove, which needs a float under 0.07, inputs with a 0.00–0.70 range would have to average below roughly 0.0095 — a set of near-zero-float skins that costs far more than the FN glove it might produce. Crafted items carry the same seven-day hold as anything newly acquired. Trade-ups are a tool for turning reds you already hold into a pair; they are not a discount.

Wear on gloves: why the float window changes everything

Every glove is capped between 0.06 and 0.80, which compresses the five wear tiers into unfamiliar shapes: Factory New is 0.06–0.07, Minimal Wear 0.07–0.15, Field-Tested 0.15–0.38, Well-Worn 0.38–0.45 and Battle-Scarred 0.45–0.80. Factory New is one hundredth of the float bar, so FN pairs are scarce by construction rather than by demand — which is why two trackers we read the same day disagreed by more than half on the FN price of the same Sport Gloves. Treat FN bands as thin-market numbers.

Field-Tested is where most gloves change hands and where the bands are most trustworthy. How wear shows depends on the material — leather scuffs at the knuckles, synthetic fabric fades, wraps discolour, and prints survive high float better than dyes — and a 0.16 Field-Tested pair looks nothing like a 0.37 one, so the float, not the tier, is the number to buy.

What the October 2025 update did to glove prices

It halved them. Within days of the 22 October 2025 trade-up update most knife and glove prices were down at least 50 percent, the high end by 65–70 percent in the first 48 hours, and the overall skin market cap fell from about $6 billion to a low near $3.5 billion before recovering to around $4 billion by 27 October. A November 2025 ranking listed Pandora's Box at $3,000–45,000 and Superconductor at $1,200–17,000; on 9 September 2026 the same finishes ran about $1,935–22,200 and $785–7,888. Different trackers, different methods, same direction: roughly half.

Two later dates get misdescribed. The 22 May 2026 update is often called a "drop-rate update"; the official notes for that day added Souvenir items to trade-ups and reworked the Major shop and contain no change to case odds — the 8–10 percent weekly fall in knife and glove index baskets that trackers reported coincided with it, nothing more. And the Dead Hand set of 11 March 2026 did not lift the old sets; it added supply. A July 2026 list put the cheapest Hydra gloves at $44–49 in Battle-Scarred; by 9 September 2026 they listed at $26–31.

Where to buy gloves, and what each market is for

Buy gloves on a marketplace that shows the float and the render, pay a fee you can see, and never on a site whose business is opening cases. The links below go through our /go/ redirects; several are affiliate links that may earn us a commission at no cost to you, which never changes what we write. Fees quoted are as verified by our desk on 4 September 2026.

Skinport — cash listings, 0% buyer fee

Skinport charges the seller 8 percent (6 percent above €1,000) and the buyer nothing, so the sticker is the price; listings show float and pattern and the site has the deepest glove inventory in Europe. Since Trade Protection in July 2025 sellers are credited around eight days after delivery, which is why patient listings here often undercut instant-sell sites. Apply through Skinport (affiliate link).

Affiliate link. We may earn a commission — it never moves a ranking.

CSFloat — search by float, not by tier

CSFloat's filters let you set a maximum float, which for gloves is the whole game: a 0.16 Field-Tested pair costs a fraction of a Minimal Wear one and can look nearly as clean. Seller fee is 2 percent, withdrawal 0.5–2.5 percent, buyer fee zero; it is peer-to-peer, so delivery waits on the seller. CSFloat (affiliate link).

Affiliate link. We may earn a commission — it never moves a ranking.

SkinBaron — cash, EUR, older sets

SkinBaron is a German cash marketplace with a steady supply of the 2016 and 2018 sets and monthly EUR payouts for sellers; it is the market we would check first for a Glove Case original. Payment-method fees apply on top of the listing (card 5 percent plus €0.35 at our last check). SkinBaron (affiliate link).

Affiliate link. We may earn a commission — it never moves a ranking.

DMarket — face-to-face trades and liquidity

DMarket runs a standard marketplace at about 2 percent seller fee, rising toward 10 percent on illiquid items, plus a Face2Face mode at about 4 percent. Good for mid-band Driver and Specialist gloves where volume is high; thinner for FN prestige pairs. DMarket (affiliate link).

Affiliate link. We may earn a commission — it never moves a ranking.

Tradeit — swap the skins you already own

Tradeit is a trade bot: you put in skins, the site prices them, and you take out a pair of gloves, with an instant-sell option that pays 5–20 percent under market and a cash-out fee of 2 percent. Its commission is opaque (its terms allow 0–30 percent), so compare the bot's price against a listing before you swap. Tradeit (affiliate link).

Other routes we use: SkinSwap, Swap.gg and CS.TRADE for swaps, Lis-Skins for instant sales, white.market as a peer-to-peer alternative — all affiliate links, all disclosed. The Steam Community Market charges 15 percent and locks the proceeds in your wallet. BitSkins closed on 30 June 2026.

Affiliate link. We may earn a commission — it never moves a ranking.

Trade Protection and the seven-day rules

Since July 2025 every trade can be reversed for seven days, and a reversal puts the account on a 30-day trade cooldown; peer-to-peer marketplaces responded by crediting sellers roughly eight days after delivery. Terminal offers you accept and gloves you craft both arrive with a seven-day hold, so a pair bought any way other than a direct marketplace purchase is not resellable for a week. And the numbers here are bands read on 9 September 2026: if the date is more than a month old when you read this, check the live listing before you pay.

Questions at the counter

How many gloves are there in CS2?

Ninety-four finishes across eight families as of 9 September 2026: Driver 20, Sport 19, Specialist 19, Moto 12, Hand Wraps 12, Bloodhound 4, Hydra 4 and Broken Fang 4. Twenty-two of them arrived with the Dead Hand Collection on 11 March 2026.

What are the cheapest gloves in CS2?

On 9 September 2026 the lowest listings were Battle-Scarred Hydra Gloves | Rattler and Mangrove at about $26, Driver Gloves | Racing Green at about $27 and Hydra Gloves | Emerald at about $31. Twenty finishes listed under $50. Prices move daily; the date is part of the number.

What are the most expensive gloves in CS2?

Factory New Sport Gloves | Hedge Maze at about $26,000 and Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box at about $22,000 on one tracker (another showed $34,500 for Pandora's Box the same day), then Specialist Gloves | Crimson Kimono around $8,400 and Sport Gloves | Superconductor around $7,900, all read 9 September 2026. FN glove supply is tiny, so these are thin-market prices.

Which cases have gloves?

Seven: Glove Case, Operation Hydra Case, Clutch Case, Operation Broken Fang Case, Snakebite Case, Recoil Case and Revolution Case. They share three 24-glove sets. The 22 Dead Hand gloves come only from the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal, a weekly drop introduced on 11 March 2026, or from trading up five of the terminal's Covert skins.

Can you trade up to gloves?

Yes, since the 22 October 2025 update: five regular Covert skins from one of the glove containers return one regular glove from that container's set. The output's wear follows the inputs' average float, and gloves have no StatTrak, so StatTrak Coverts only ever make knives. Crafted gloves carry a seven-day hold.

Do gloves have StatTrak or patterns?

No glove has a StatTrak or Souvenir version. A few finishes carry a pattern index that changes the look — Hydra Gloves | Case Hardened is the clearest example — but most are identical from pair to pair apart from float. The float is the number to compare.
